CEO and Co-founder
Jeff co-founded Seedrs with Carlos in 2009. He began his career as a corporate lawyer with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and London, and he serves as a Non-Executive Director of Companies House. He has been named one of the top 10 coolest people in UK tech by Business Insider and one of the most influential men in Britain by GQ.
COO, President and Co-founder
Carlos is an IT development and security expert who leads our platform development, security structures and metrics benchmarking. He is also an active mentor in the thriving Lisbon startup scene, co-founder of Beta-I and was named by Exame as one of the top 40 entrepreneurs under 40 in Portugal.
Chief Technology Officer
Duarte is a software engineer who specialises in agile development of web-based applications. Before joining Seedrs he was Co-founder and CTO of Byclosure and VILT. At Seedrs, Duarte heads up the development and product teams.
Chief Investment Officer
Thomas is a qualified lawyer who began his career with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London, Hong Kong and New York. As CIO, Thomas leads our investment team – working with entrepreneurs throughout the campaigning and post-investment journeys. He’s also our resident photographer.
Legal & Financial Director
Karen is a qualified lawyer who began her career in Simmons & Simmons LLP’s financial litigation group. She heads our legal, compliance and financial teams, is a Director of the UK Crowdfunding Association, and was named one of the top women in fintech by Innovate Finance.
Chief Marketing Officer
With 14 years experience in digital strategy Ben is an accomplished marketer and entrepreneur, bringing a broad skill set to the team driving overall marketing strategy. He has worked in Europe, America and Australia with both startups and global brands such as MTV and Canon.
Co-Head of Seedrs America
Prior to joining Seedrs, Adam was CEO of Junction Investments. Previously, he has worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs, a corporate lawyer at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, and a law clerk to the then-chief judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Co-Head of Seedrs America
Prior to joining Seedrs, Brian was president of Junction Investments. Previously, he served as a political producer for Katie Couric at CBS News in New York. Brian has held Series 63 and 82 licenses.
Pedro is a software engineer who is particularly interested in aspects related to investments and shares. After completing his Degree in Computer Science in 2012 he has also been the responsible for the predictive dialer of Altitude Software’s uCI 8.
Alexandre has over 15 years of experience in business innovation and growth. Alexandre is Co-founder and Managing Director of Faber Ventures, an investor in Seedrs, and was previously Co-founder and CEO of Innovagency, served as CEO of Atlântico and Blueticket, and was an associate at Oliver Wyman.
Ian is a chartered accountant and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Ian contributes his experience from several leading roles with HBOS and its predecessor, Halifax, including as Development Director of HBOS FS International, COO of HBOS General Insurance and CEO of Halifax Independent Financial Advisors Limited.
Pedro is a passionate software craftsman who enjoys agile environments and complex challenges. He currently handles all aspects of the development of the Seedrs platform and tries to ensure high coding standards and practices throughout the team.
Telmo started working in the banking sector, but soon understood that his heart was in agile development technologies. At Seedrs, Telmo is a member of the development team.
Operations Manager (Lisbon)
Raquel is responsible for all the day to day operations in the Lisbon office taking care of the administrative work. She has a law degree and is currently enrolled in a graduate course in human resources management. In her spare time she writes about Lisbon’s amazing hot spots for Spotted by Locals.
Having previously worked as a teaching assistant for the University of Porto, João joined Seedrs after finishing his MSc in 2014 to get in touch with the startup scene. He works on the development of the Seedrs platform and learns something new every other day.
Operations Manager (London)
Reenie is responsible for the day to day operations of the London office, taking care of administrative and team operations. She has a business management degree and is currently studying law.
Maria helps the Portuguese startup community and general public get acquainted with Seedrs and equity crowdfunding through national media outlets. Before joining Seedrs, Maria worked as a copywriter at Time Out Porto, Uniplaces and digital marketing agency Live Content.
Kirsty is a qualified lawyer who joined Seedrs from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. As a corporate lawyer Kirsty focused on mergers and acquisitions, with experience in London, Singapore and Australia. As Investment Director, Kirsty now manages the investment process from campaign review, through to deal execution and post-investment management.
Charlie is the in-house accountant and assists with financial matters and compliance within the London Office. He has a degree in mathematics and economics from Nottingham University.
André is a self-declared “nerd who grew up with the web”. He makes a continuous effort to bridge the gap between engineering, usability and design. André started off at SAPO before being seduced by the startup world, where he then worked for Uniplaces before joining Seedrs.
Ben focuses on post-investment matters such as EIS/SEIS and Companies House filings, as well as managing the relationship between funded companies and their investors. He began his career working on strategy consulting projects at the information services firm Alphasights.
She’s responsible for delivering appealing, simple and innovative design approaches to Seedrs platform. Before Seedrs, she worked in several design agencies in web, illustration and print projects. Loves to draw and chill by the seaside.
Tom works with entrepreneurs throughout the fundraising process on Seedrs, from campaign submission through to closing. He previously worked for Naturetrek and within the audit team at Deloitte, and he holds a CFAB qualification from the ICAEW.
Regulatory Compliance Associate
Leah handles the internal regulatory compliance function for Seedrs. She is a US qualified lawyer who previously worked at large law firms in both Chicago and London on litigation and regulatory matters in the financial services industry.
Mário works on development of the Seedrs platform. He loves building systems for the web. He previously developed e-government applications at Opensoft, graduated from a degree in Network Communications Engineering and held leadership positions at student NGOs.
Sérgio is a member of the Seedrs development team.
Leihla is an multifaceted designer and leads the design team at Seedrs – working with development, investment and marketing teams in order to create a delightful experience for the user. She’s always involved in side projects and occasionally plays the cello.
Senior Investment Associate
Simon started his career in a private lab focusing on antibody purification before putting his analytical interests into practise as a financial recruitment consultant. He now leads the investment team from campaign review through closing investments and post-investment matters.
Steven is an experienced insurance and financial services entrepreneur. He has been involved in founding a number of businesses both in London and South Africa. He is currently the COO of Lanner Capital and Chairman of Magian Mutual Insurance Company.
Ben has almost 10 years experience in investments, having previously worked for GAM Asset Management. He is also co-founder of his own fashion brand, Syndicut, holds an Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a Fellow at The RSA.
Rashmi provides administrative support to the investment team, including: identifying new companies, helping them prepare their campaigns, and managing post-closing matters once a campaign reaches its target.
Alysia runs the day-to-day marketing, branding and content for Seedrs. She also heads up our popular campaign marketing sessions. Alysia is a mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation and was recently named one of the top women in fintech by Innovate Finance.
Frank heads up our campaign on-boarding and business outreach. Frank is a lawyer who began his career in London with Jones Day, moving to Kirkland & Ellis where he practised in the firm’s private equity practice. More recently, he was manager of leading legal news and community site RollOnFriday.
Originally from Hamburg, Beatrice worked in account management before coming to London for her MSc in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. At Seedrs, she supports entrepreneurs fully throughout their fundraising journey, from initial submission through post-investment.
