CEO and Co-founder
Jeff co-founded Seedrs with Carlos in 2009. He began his career as a corporate lawyer with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and London, and he serves as a Non-Executive Director of Companies House. He has been named one of the top 10 coolest people in UK tech by Business Insider and one of the most influential men in Britain by GQ.
Co-Founder, President and Head of Seedrs Europe
Carlos is an IT development and security expert who leads our platform development, security structures and metrics benchmarking. He is also an active mentor in the thriving Lisbon startup scene, co-founder of Beta-I and was named by Exame as one of the top 40 entrepreneurs under 40 in Portugal.
Chief Technology Officer
Duarte is a software engineer who specialises in agile development of web-based applications. Before joining Seedrs he worked in Enterprise Content Management at VILT, and was Co-founder and CTO of Byclosure, a company specialising in software front-end engineering. At Seedrs, Duarte heads up the development and product teams.
Chief Investment Officer
Thomas is a qualified lawyer who began his career with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London, Hong Kong and New York. As CIO, Thomas leads our investment team – working with entrepreneurs throughout the campaigning and post-investment journeys. He’s also our resident photographer.
Chief Legal Officer
Karen is a qualified lawyer who began her career in Simmons & Simmons LLP’s financial litigation group. She heads our legal, compliance and financial teams, is a Director of the UK Crowdfunding Association, and was named one of the top women in fintech by Innovate Finance.
Chief Marketing Officer
With 14 years experience in digital strategy Ben is an accomplished marketer and entrepreneur, bringing a broad skill set to the team driving overall marketing strategy. He has worked in Europe, America and Australia with both startups and global brands such as MTV and Canon.
HR & Operations Manager
Liz looks after HR and Operations at Seedrs. She previously worked as HR Manager for Skillcapital, an executive search and advisory firm. She has a degree in Pharmacology from the University of Liverpool.
Joanna works within the Seedrs marketing and business development team as Marketing Manager to support stakeholders and internal teams with growth. She has both client and agency side experience in sport, event and digital marketing. Apart from London, she has lived in Hong Kong, Beijing and Brighton.
As well as being a software engineer at Seedrs, Pedro is working towards a financial analysis postgraduate diploma that will grant him a CEFA certificate. Before Seedrs he worked at Altitude Software, a company that offers contact center solutions, where he was responsible for the predictive dialler algorithm.
Alexandre has over 15 years of experience in business innovation and growth. Alexandre is Co-founder and Managing Director of Faber Ventures, an investor in Seedrs, and was previously Co-founder and CEO of Innovagency, served as CEO of Atlântico and Blueticket, and was an associate at Oliver Wyman.
Clement is a recent graduate with a first class degree in Economics from Queen Mary University of London where he also set up a start-up accelerator programme. At Seedrs, Clement works with entrepreneurs throughout the fundraising process, from campaign submission through to closing.
Ian is a chartered accountant and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Ian contributes his experience from several leading roles with HBOS and its predecessor, Halifax, including as Development Director of HBOS FS International, COO of HBOS General Insurance and CEO of Halifax Independent Financial Advisors Limited.
Senior Compliance Associate
Debra is a chartered accountant and certified anti-money laundering specialist. She started her career in banking where she specialised in regulatory compliance. At Seedrs, Debra handles the internal regulatory compliance function and in her spare time she can usually be found training for a marathon.
Susana started off as a print designer and recently joined Seedrs to learn more about UX and UI design, as well as the startup scene. She is also involved in a side project at Faber Ventures and loves to draw.
Social Media and Content Manager
Prior to joining Seedrs, Tom worked at a digital marketing agency managing a wide range of accounts. He recently joined Seedrs to manage our social media and help create engaging digital content for the wider community.
Telmo started working in the banking sector, but soon understood that his heart was in agile development technologies. At Seedrs, Telmo is a member of the development team.
Community Support Associate
At Seedrs Josh acts as the primary contact for the wider Seedrs community, supporting investors and entrepreneurs throughout all stages of their experience. Josh previously provided professional, financial and administrative services to institutional and private clients in both London and Jersey.
Operations Manager (Lisbon)
Raquel is responsible for all the day to day operations in the Lisbon office taking care of the administrative work. She has a law degree and is currently enrolled in a graduate course in human resources management. In her spare time she writes about Lisbon’s amazing hot spots for Spotted by Locals.
Having previously worked as a teaching assistant for the University of Porto, João joined Seedrs after finishing his MSc in 2014 to get in touch with the startup scene. He works on the development of the Seedrs platform and learns something new every other day.
Business Support Specialist
Reenie is responsible for the day to day operations of the London office, taking care of administrative and team operations. She has a business management degree and is currently studying law.
Kirsty is a qualified lawyer who joined Seedrs from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. As a corporate lawyer Kirsty focused on mergers and acquisitions, with experience in London, Singapore and Australia. As Investment Director, Kirsty now manages the investment process from campaign review, through to deal execution and post-investment management.
Campaign Development Associate
Tom is responsible for building relationships within the startup and SME eco-system; on-boarding exciting seed and growth businesses that are interested in equity crowdfunding. Prior to joining Seedrs, he began his career in advertising, working for top global agencies, before following his passion for startups. He holds a BSc Hons in Economics from the University of Bristol.
Charlie is the in-house accountant and assists with financial matters and compliance within the London Office. He has a degree in mathematics and economics from Nottingham University.
Shameel works with entrepreneurs throughout the fundraising process as well as focusing on post-investment matters for our portfolio companies. He previously worked at Raileasy, an online rail ticket retailer and the accountancy firm BDO.
Jakub is a Chartered Accountant who joined Seedrs after six years at EY where he delivered work for clients in the banking and capital markets industries. At Seedrs, he manages all aspects of the Finance function and oversees its potential to grow. Hailing from Prague, he has recently celebrated a milestone of ten years’ of residence in London.
Katerina is an internal auditor diagnosing risk across all areas of Seedrs. She previously worked for PwC, the European Commission and the asset management industry. She loves travelling and has lived and worked in five countries.
André is a self-declared “nerd who grew up with the web”. He makes a continuous effort to bridge the gap between engineering, usability and design. André started off at SAPO before being seduced by the startup world, where he then worked for Uniplaces before joining Seedrs.
Business Development Director
Rich is responsible for the strategic direction of business development across the entrepreneur and investor focused teams at Seedrs. His previous experience includes building out commercial teams, launching and monetising new product offerings and scaling revenues, both for startup and growth businesses in the alternative fund and internet sectors.
She’s responsible for delivering appealing, simple and innovative design approaches to Seedrs platform. Before Seedrs, she worked in several design agencies in web, illustration and print projects. Loves to draw and chill by the seaside.
Senior Investment Associate
Tom works with entrepreneurs throughout the fundraising process on Seedrs, from campaign submission through to closing. He previously worked for Naturetrek and within the audit team at Deloitte, and he holds a CFAB qualification from the ICAEW.
Legal & Compliance Manager
Leah handles the internal regulatory compliance function for Seedrs. She is a US qualified lawyer who previously worked at large law firms in both Chicago and London on litigation and regulatory matters in the financial services industry.
Mário works on development of the Seedrs platform. He loves building systems for the web. He previously developed e-government applications at Opensoft, graduated from a degree in Network Communications Engineering and held leadership positions at student NGOs.
Sérgio is a member of the Seedrs development team. He has worked with agile software development for more than five years and loves to solve challenges in its area. In his free time he may be found somewhere riding his motorcycle.
João is a Software Engineer in our development team. He started his career developing applications for Windows phones and tablets. He is motivated by the world of web technologies and Seedrs constantly gives him the opportunity to expand his knowledge.
Head Of Business Development - Portugal & Spain
Filipe is responsible for developing startup community relationships in the Portuguese and Spanish ecosystems for Seedrs. He has a long history of working with entrepreneur projects from seed to exit, actively mentoring entrepreneurs and evaluating businesses on both social impact and the commercial sides. Previously he worked as a physiotherapist with a Masters in Medical Informatics and an MBA from the University of Porto.
Simon started his career in a private lab focusing on antibody purification before putting his analytical interests into practise as a financial recruitment consultant. He now leads the investment team from campaign review through closing investments and post-investment matters.
Campaign Development Associate
Chris is responsible for the initial contact with businesses interested in using the platform. He’s always on the look out for innovative and disruptive startups that are a good fit for equity crowdfunding. He is also co-founder of YoungOnes Apparel, so he fully understands the struggles and triumphs of being an entrepreneur. He’s even appeared on Dragon’s Den!
At Seedrs, Adam is responsible for managing and building our investor base. His experience includes the promotion and distribution of investments to retail investors and intermediaries, including EIS and SEIS portfolios. He holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bristol and his interests include food, music and boxing.
Steven is an experienced insurance and financial services entrepreneur. He has been involved in founding a number of businesses both in London and South Africa. He is currently the COO of Lanner Capital and Chairman of Magian Mutual Insurance Company.
PR & Communications Director
Lucy heads up public relations and communications at Seedrs, generating awareness of fundraising campaigns and developing a media narrative around the Seedrs brand and wider equity crowdfunding space. She has 11 years PR industry experience, and joins Seedrs from Amazon, and previously Caesars Entertainment.
Campaign Success Manager
At Seedrs Ekaterina works with entrepreneurs to create outstanding fundraising campaigns. She started her career in commercial Real Estate before discovering her passion for startups. She has worked internationally in London, New York, Australia and the Cayman Islands.
Miguel joined the startup world with Seedrs after almost 5 years working at SAPO. He is a passionate Ruby developer working with web technologies since graduating from university. Before heading to the office he likes to start his morning with CrossFit.
After working in Sweden, France and Japan, Fabien joined Seedrs to continue pursuing his passion for startups, engineering the best systems and learning in a fast paced environment. Outside work, he likes visiting coworking spaces and meeting people around the world for his side-project: CoWorking.Coffee
Joana loves solving problems. That’s why she is responsible for creating design solutions that enhance user experiences at Seedrs. She graduated in Communication Design at Lisbon Fine Arts Faculty and for the last eight years worked on projects for Quodis, Wiz Interactive and Edigma.
Niamh provides administrative support to the investment team, including: identifying new companies, helping them prepare their campaigns, and managing post-closing matters once a campaign reaches its target.
Alysia runs the day-to-day marketing, branding and content for Seedrs. She also heads up our popular campaign marketing sessions. Alysia is a mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation and was recently named one of the top women in fintech by Innovate Finance.
Frank heads up our campaign on-boarding and business outreach. Frank is a lawyer who began his career in London with Jones Day, moving to Kirkland & Ellis where he practised in the firm’s private equity practice. More recently, he was manager of leading legal news and community site RollOnFriday.
Originally from Hamburg, Beatrice worked in account management before coming to London for her MSc in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. At Seedrs, she supports entrepreneurs fully throughout their fundraising journey, from initial submission through post-investment.
Business Development Associate
Thierry is our Business Development Associate for the Benelux region. After graduating from Imperial College with an MSc in Entrepreneurship he joined Deliveroo, working in international operations, before joining Seedrs. He speaks five languages and has a passion for rugby.
