Every day, all over the planet, millions of height measurements are made. People, patients, animals, innumerable common things: at any given moment, the height of someone or something is being measured.
But to our knowledge, there is no inexpensive, simple, hand-held laser device designed to measure the height of everyday things. Conventional laser tape measurement devices are not specifically designed to measure height. Try using one to measure yourself. You can't put it on top of your head and point down - your body is in the way. If you hold it to the side of your head, this is essentially guessing.
Most people use sticks and tapes to measure height, not because they are perfect, but because they are all that is on offer. Sticks are cumbersome and not very portable. Tapes often need two people. Both can be inaccurate. They cannot store data.
We believe people like hand-held devices. They need to measure height. So we invented the first hand-held, laser height measurement device. We call it HeightLight™.
