17 January – Oppo featured in Cosmopolitan as a healthy snacking brand to watch

Oppo (when investing, capital is at risk) was featured as part of Cosmopolitan magazine’s “14 healthy snacking brands that should be on your radar”. The international fashion magazine said, “Oppo’s ingredient list sounds like it has been lifted straight from a health food blog… it’s definitely worth keeping an emergency tub in the freezer.”

18 January – Mindful Chef cited by Victoria Pendleton as food that complements her training schedule

World and Olympic Champion track cyclist Victoria Pendleton told Huffington Post: “I have recently started using The Mindful Chef… I was getting bored of what I was cooking and it was an easy way to find cool and lovely recipes.” Mindful Chef raised £1M from 189 investors on the Seedrs platform.

19 January – Beeline launch their handlebar navigation pointer

The handlebar mounted GPS makers who raised over £500,000 from 343 investors were featured in TechCrunch, with co-founder Tom Putnam giving insight into their success as a cycle tech firm. Tech City News also listed the Beeline app as their download of the week.

23 January – WeSwap featured on The Martin Lewis Money Show

Peer-to-peer travel money platform WeSwap, who raised £2.4M from over 2,961 investors, was featured on ITV’s leading finance show to talk about how to get the cheapest foreign currency.weswap

24 January – Chapel Down takes English sparkling wines to France

English sparkling wine maker Chapel Down, who raised £4.2M from 1,462 investors, has followed on from their exciting 2016 US launch by entering the French market. In a partnership with Perles Du Monde Chapel Down wines will be seen in top-end hotels, restaurants and bars across France.

26 January – Poq joins Tech City’s Upscale cohort

Poq, the e-commerce cloud solution making it easier for retailers to sell through apps who raised £332,390 from 201 investors, has been accepted into the 2017 cohort of Tech City’s Upscale. Named as one of the UK’s Most Promising Tech Companies, they sit alongside the likes of Monzo, Mixcloud and Blaze.
