EDF acquires Pod Point in £100m deal

EDF has bought a majority stake in Pod Point as part of a new joint venture with Legal & General Capital, in which the latter will also take a 23 per cent stake.

The Sunday Times names Mr Lee’s as a startup to watch

The Sunday Times named Bournemouth as one of the best places for business in the UK, including Mr Lee’s as one of the top startups to watch there. Mr Lee’s raised £3m in 2019 on Seedrs and is returning for another round this year.

The Sunday Times names JAFA as a startup to watch

The Sunday Times also named Milton Keynes as one of the best places for business in the UK, including JAFA as one of the top startups to watch there. An app for football fans to get the latest news and views, JAFA raised more than £250,000 on Seedrs last year.

Moteefee raises $5m in Series A funding round 

Led by Gresham House and Force Over Mass Capital, Moteefee will use this $5m funding round to expand into new geographies including Australia and LATAM, launch new products for large retailers and invest in scaling operations. 

We Build Bots wins Tech Nation’s Rising Star Award

We Build Bots were named alongside nine other firms across the UK as the ones to watch by the tech network. We Build Bots are proud to be the first Welsh winners of the award.

Paysend Launches Mobile Multi-Currency Wallet In Europe

Paysend introduced its Global Account, an international, fee-free mobile money account with a multi-currency wallet. This new account aims to save people as much as £2 billion in currency conversions when buying abroad. Users can pay, hold and spend their money using the multi-currency wallet.

Paperclip secures £750,000 in its latest funding round 

The digital marketplace platform has raised more than £1.5m in four years, with notable investors including Hayley Parsons, founder of GoCompare; David Buttress, former chief executive of Just Eat; Ilona Simpson, board member at Lamborghini and Tariq Linjawi, managing partner at the United Consulting Group Saudi Arabia.
