2 January – Veeqo closes its 8th Seedrs round
E-commerce inventory management software company Veeqo, raised their eighth round on Seedrs – two years after their initial 2014 round. They secured £1.2M from 200 investors.
Department store House of Fraser announced their plans to invest £35M in digital bank Tandem less than a year after their raised £2.3M from 1,715 investors on Seedrs. The retailer is planning to offer ‘financial solutions’ to customers using Tandem, plans that will be further outlined in the first half of this year.
Leading online community for corporate meetings and event planners Eventopedia, who raised £128,000 from 105 investors on Seedrs, joined the Microsoft BizSpark Plus programme. They have been awarded $120,000 of Azure cloud services over two years as well as technical support and a wide range of other services.
16 January – Landbay authorised as ISA manager by HMRC
P2P lending platform Landbay – who raised £1.6M from 407 investors in their last Seedrs round – were granted ISA Manager Status by HMRC less than a month after being one of the first to be granted full authorisation from the FCA for peer to peer lending. This status helps clear the way for the launch of their Innovative Finance ISA.
