How do I pay for my investment?
You can pay for your investments in a Seedrs campaign in two ways: by a bank card at the time of creating your investment, or with funds already in your Seedrs Investment Account. You can deposit funds into your Seedrs Investment Account in advance by using a bank card or by bank transfer. You can pay for any purchases of shares on the Secondary Market by a bank card only. Please note that we only accept UK debit cards (not UK credit cards); however European credit cards may be used.
Any payments or deposits made using a bank card will be transferred to us using a third-party payment provider, Stripe. Investors can use a Visa or Mastercard from most countries, although there may be some countries not supported by Stripe. The funds will immediately display as available in your Seedrs Investment Account (or used to pay for your selected investment), but please note they will take several days to reach our client money account through Stripe. During this time, the funds will not be treated as client money under Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules.
If you deposit funds to your Seedrs Investment Account by bank transfer, you will need to instruct an electronic transfer from your bank using the details provided. Unlike with payments made by card, these funds will only display in your Seedrs Investment Account once they have been received into our client money account – you’ll receive a notification when this has happened. You can then use the funds to pay for your investments.
We don’t charge you any fees for payment or deposit processing. However, you are responsible for any bank transfer charges on your side to ensure that the full intended amount reaches us.
