Introduction

Gipsy Hill is one of London’s Largest Local and independent Breweries.

We’re employee-owned, founder-led, and make one of the highest rated Session Ale of any medium-sized brewery in London* >5,000hl – Hepcat Session IPA.

This summer we released what we believe to be the WORLD’S FIRST carbon-negative beers without using offsets – the culmination of a project that lasted 24 months.

We believe that we can become the WORLD’S FIRST carbon-negative brewery without offsets – truly sustainable and regenerative brewing from the heart of London.

Strong sustainability credentials will soon be table stakes for any large FMCG deals, and we believe that by making us the most sustainable brewing business in the world we are increasing our potential for the growth of the business.

Monetisation strategy

At Gipsy Hill we are laser focused on the largest opportunity in craft beer – London’s Pubs and Bars (On-Trade).

For us, the On-Trade is the best route to market because it's the:

1. Best place to build a brand – sharing experiences with your friends is where brand love is born.

2. Best place for your product to be consumed – beer tastes better from a keg.

3. Highest volume business – scale is critical for efficient brewing.

4. Highest margin RTM.

5. It is on our doorstep – we’re incredibly lucky to be based in London with the whole of London’s On-Trade within 10 miles. Sometimes, the easiest solution is the best solution.

We have grown our presence in London’s On-Trade by 85% this year, and have increased our On-Trade total sales YoY by 141%.

We also have 2 bars, which together amount to a total revenue of an estimated £900k in 2023*.

Alongside our focus on On-Trade, we have listings in Waitrose and M&S, and we export our beers in Europe.
